Cara McCarthy Hutchins
Cara is a right + left brain entrepreneur who builds brands by creating links between people and experiences. In 1997, Cara founded Communications, Ink an intentionally-small marketing company that provides a full-array of marketing services including branding, web design, logo and collateral development as well as market research, social media content generation and analytics. Cara has an AB from Vassar College and an MBA from Babson College. Prior to founding Communications, Ink, Cara worked on the mortgage trading desk of Solomon Brothers, as the Director of Investor Relations at Presidio Oil Company and as the Advertising Manager at State Street Bank & Trust Company where she was responsible for all global advertising and market research.
As a multi-talented generalist, Cara works with a wide range of organizations, using her breadth of knowledge to develop integrated communications programs that help her clients succeed. Her work as a marketing partner with her clients has earned numerous Hermes, Davey, Marcomm and Association of Graphic Communications awards.
In addition to her work at Communications, Ink, Cara is a passionate volunteer who has served on numerous boards and advisory committees including Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts, The Women’s Fund of Essex County, Friends of Beverly Hospital, Pingree School, Mayor’s Office for the City of Beverly, Vassar College and the deBeaumont Foundation.
Cara lives in Beverly with her husband and their two teenage children where she enjoys pouring over political polls and finding the perfect shade of red lipstick.
Anne is passionate about creating unique visual solutions that capture the essence and services provided by a company. Creativity has been a common thread throughout her life. This thread has intertwined through her love of art and drawing as a child to studying art and art history in college to using her natural and trained creative abilities to design effective communications.
She is a key creative player in building brands and developing identities for over 20 years. Translating strategy and marketing objectives into a creative vision seamlessly across digital and printed channels, while maintaining a consistent look and message is a challenge she truly loves. Keeping a pulse on market trends, Anne likes to find inspiration for creative ideas through research online and in the marketplace.
Leigh is a Communication Design professional with deep experience creating marketing communications and managing design projects and teams. She has worked with retail clients as well as clients in financial services and the technology sector with a concentrated focus on branding, corporate identity and evolution.
In previous roles, Leigh helped build brand recognition at the Peabody Essex Museum, held the role of Director of Communication Design at ATG and was senior Designer for various Boston design consultancies. Leigh is a graduate of American University. Her work has garnered regional and national recognition including honors from the American Association of Museums, Print’s Regional Design Annual, Neena Papers and the Art Directors Club.
Social Media Manager
Katie graduated from the S.I. Newhouse School of Communications at Syracuse University with a degree in magazine journalism in 2015. Her experience studying abroad in London sparked a passion for adventure and exploration that simply could not be stifled. Moving to Australia in 2016 allowed her to develop her love of travel writing and multimedia creative storytelling. Katie loves combining photography and writing to transport readers to far-away places and inspire them to travel, taste, see, and explore the world around them.
